We enjoyed the end of November with a great Thanksgiving meal and a birthday hike through the park! On Turkey Day, Grant got to play with his cousins Lee and Amanda, his Uncle Casey as well as Mr. Joe and Wrigley the Poodle. Then over the weekend, our family explored the trails and beaches of nearby Lincoln Park. It was such a nice (long) weekend!
This site features weekly updates on all things Grant Lewallen. Enjoy!

Museum fun
We fell behind on the blog again, and now have two weeks to update everyone on.
Last weekend we had a great time with Nana and PawPaw. We had fun reading stories, seeing Pike Place Market and going to the Boeing Museum of Flight!
Then this past weekend we ventured down south to Tacoma and went to the Tacoma Children's Museum, a hands on, pay as you will museum. Grant had a great time, and mom and dad found a great place for G to play on rainy days!

Two weeks in one
After Halloween, we made our way east to Chicago. Dad, Uncle Al and Uncle Scott went to the Green Bay / Bears game in Wisconsin, while mom and Grant played with the Gorby girls.

Happy Halloween!
Below are some pics of Grant from his school's costume parade. Here is a link to an article on the event from our neighborhood news blog http://westseattleblog.com/2013/10/west-seattle-halloween-2013-costumed-visitors-at-fire-station-32/#more-254471

Pumpkin Patch and more!
This weekend we visited one of the many pumpkin patches in the Seattle area. We picked out 4 pumpkins, one for each member of the family (including Ike!). It was lots of fun and we look forward to lots of pumpkin and corn-maze filled adventures as Grant gets older.
Grant also had a play date with his friend Flynn! We finally got to have a co-pilot in the wagon!

Way to go Grant!
At approximately 8pm on October 15, 2013, Grant went pee pee and poo poo in his froggy potty. By no means does this mean he is potty trained, he was just nice enough not to do it in the tub where he was in the process of taking a bath. Good job buddy!

New ride and some new moves
First off, thanks Uncle Casey for Grant's new wheels!
Second, check out Grants new dance. I believe the kids call it The Chicken Dance. ;-)

Football
The Packers lost, but G sure looked cute in his new #12 shirt, wrestling with his Aaron Rodgers doll (I mean stuffed action figure ;-)

Park fun
We explored Seward Park again this weekend, but this time we let Grant walk/run on his own the last half mile. It took a long time to finish, but he sure did have fun!

Animals big and small
So we took Grant to the horse track this weekend, thinking he would enjoy looking at all the pretty ponies. Well we thought wrong...they terrified him! We already knew he isn't a fan of dogs, but we can now add horses to the no pet list ;-). Speaking of pets, Grant usually keeps his distance from Ike (aka "kitty"), but on Sunday evening he decided he wanted to play. Ike was not having anything to do with it as seen in these two clips:

Texas Holiday
We just got back from a fun filled trip to Texas to see family, friends and football. In Kingsland we saw Nana, Papa, Auntie Sherri, Aunt Candy, Aunt Jeanie, Aunt Edna, JimBob, Scooter, and Kelsey. Then in Fort Worth, Grant got to play with his friend Madeline while their daddies watched the Frogs play football. Before we flew home, we had lunch and looked at boats with the Maul family at Bass Pro Shop's Outdoor World. Hope everyone had just as nice of a holiday weekend as we did!

Lil fish
This weekend Mom and G went to San Diego with Aunt Toti. It was a quick trip full of fun. Grant enjoyed his time in the pool and kept asking to be let "down" under the water. Mouth open and all, this kid loves getting dunked!

Picnic pic
While Dad played golf on Sunday, Mom and G went to the park and had a picnic. We were hoping to catch a glimpse of the Seafair Air Show, and a glimpse is about all we got of the super fast jets that zoomed by. Even without good shots of the airplanes, we were still able to enjoy the sunshine and chocolate chip cookies!

Nails
One of our least favorite parent tasks is the clipping of G's incredibly fast growing finger nails. It is impossible to do when he is awake, so we have a process where we let him pass out on Jimmie then I sneak in to his room and do the dirty work. It isn't 100% successful but even one nail is a small victory. Here are the guys getting comfortable last night while I waited in the hall for those blue eyes to close.

Grant's new ride
Someone loves his new green wagon, which has room for two + cup holders, and a super secret storage compartment. :-)

Happy 4th!
Hope everyone had a great holiday! We spent ours relaxing in the backyard. Speaking of relaxing, here is a funny video of Grant getting in a quick nap while he was eating dinner on Saturday...

Keeping cool
It has been hot in Seattle the last couple of days and with no AC, keeping cool is hard to do. But luckily, a new spray park opened in West Seattle on Friday. Grant has already been twice, and I see many more visits in the near future.

Quick story
After I got G in his pj's tonight, he grabbed one of my flip flops from the floor and tried to put it on my left foot which was up on the couch. After struggling for a bit he pointed for me to stand up and step into them. Then he grabbed my hand and led me to the front door. He wanted to go outside to play and knew that required mom putting on her shoes. This kid is way too smart for his age...
