Lil fish

This weekend Mom and G went to San Diego with Aunt Toti.  It was a quick trip full of fun.  Grant enjoyed his time in the pool and kept asking to be let "down" under the water.  Mouth open and all, this kid loves getting dunked!

While Dad played golf on Sunday, Mom and G went to the park and had a picnic.  We were hoping to catch a glimpse of the Seafair Air Show, and a glimpse is about all we got of the super fast jets that zoomed by.  Even without good shots of the airplanes, we were still able to enjoy the sunshine and chocolate chip cookies!

Nails

One of our least favorite parent tasks is the clipping of G's incredibly fast growing finger nails.  It is impossible to do when he is awake, so we have a process where we let him pass out on Jimmie then I sneak in to his room and do the dirty work.  It isn't 100% successful but even one nail is a small victory.  Here are the guys getting comfortable last night while I waited in the hall for those blue eyes to close.

Happy 4th!

Hope everyone had a great holiday!  We spent ours relaxing in the backyard.  Speaking of relaxing, here is a funny video of Grant getting in a quick nap while he was eating dinner on Saturday...

Keeping cool

It has been hot in Seattle the last couple of days and with no AC, keeping cool is hard to do.  But luckily, a new spray park opened in West Seattle on Friday.  Grant has already been twice, and I see many more visits in the near future. 

Quick story

After I got G in his pj's tonight, he grabbed one of my flip flops from the floor and tried to put it on my left foot which was up on the couch.  After struggling for a bit he pointed for me to stand up and step into them.  Then he grabbed my hand and led me to the front door.  He wanted to go outside to play and knew that required mom putting on her shoes.  This kid is way too smart for his age...

After he got me to cave, here he is trying so hard to open the door.

New fence, old friends

Big highlights this week included our new fence going up (with gates) and our pals Scott and Christy visiting from San Antonio.

Lastly, since we didn't get a picture of Grant and Daddy together on Father's Day, here is an adorable one taken this week.  Happy early birthday Daddy!

Outside adventures

We were outside a lot this Father's Day weekend.  Between the park and our backyard, Grant had lots of fun playing with sticks and getting dirty!

Mr. Social

Grant had a fun week that included showing our out of town guests around Seattle, playing with his old infant teacher while mom and dad had a movie date night, and partying at Lincoln Park with his pal Nora who just turned one!

Auntie Sherri time!

We had a special visitor from Texas this week, Auntie Sherri!  Grant loved playing with his Aunt and showing her parts of Seattle she hadn't seen before.  Here they are with Daddy at beautiful Lincoln Park.

3 day weekend

It was too rainy in Seattle to BBQ over Memorial Day weekend. But we did work in a game at Safeco Field, watching the Rangers almost sweep the M's on Sunday. In addition to baseball, we also have been enjoying the Spurs. Thanks Aunt Candy for G's new shirt. While not smiling here, he loves it (what he doesn't love is standing still for a picture!!)

Weekend in LA

On Friday we flew down to Southern California for Grandma Wyne's memorial service. We got to celebrate her life with family from around the country, including cousins Mario and Lola. In addition to seeing the Wynes and Whetzels, Grant got to play with family on the Lewallen side too. On Sunday we went to Hollywood and had lots of fun with Lee, Amanda, Morgan, Nimoy and Lando.

Happy Mother's Day

Today we celebrated Mother's day by taking Mom to one of her favorite local cafes for lattes, muffins and biscuits. We also talked to Grammie on the phone and spent some quality "Face" time with Nana, PaPa and Aunt Candy! Then we watched golf, baseball and basketball. Here's a shot of Grant helping clean up while learning to say, "Go Spurs Go!".

These pictures were taken back in March by a professional photographer that visited Grant's school.  For some reason the lil guy wasn't up for smiling that day, but he still looks pretty cute!

Busy weekend

We were so busy this weekend that we forgot to capture something for the blog. :-( What were we busy doing you might ask? Well we painted and rearranged our bedroom in preparation for a new bed, shuffled our existing furniture around the house, played at the park (twice), ate dinner at the top of the Space Needle, watched the NFL draft, the Spurs, and of course baseball. But tonight we took a moment to capture a cute shot of our little man eating dinner.

Bay Area adventures!

Grant and mom had a mini vacation to Northern California with Grammie and Pops this weekend. We swam, we danced, we saw extended family and we even caught a fish!

Baseball Season!

Week one of Mariner home games, and we have already been to two (Astros on Tuesday and Rangers on Sunday)! Good thing the stadium has lots of room for G to run around...

Paint and play

Last week was a busy one. It started with Grant catching his second round of Hand, Foot and Mouth disease and ended with a fun play date with an old infant classmate. In between, our little guy attended a Second birthday party for a new classmate at an art studio. In addition to a very cool goodie bag, we came home with this masterpiece.

March Madness

New boots!

Grant's new boots arrived yesterday, and someone can't wear them enough! No, they aren't cowboy boots but rubber galoshes with a baseball and bat on the side. Here he is in his pj's and boots brushing his teeth. :-)

*Update on the last post, we tried whole milk again and no rash or upset tummy.

Tummy troubles

Poor Grant hasn't had a settled belly ever since we tried whole milk. Making the switch to Soy this week in an attempt to clear up a belly rash among other things, we have continued to experience lots of diapers and a red bumpy tummy. So the milk experiment will continue, most likely with rice milk.

On a non stinky note, Grant starts in a new class this week with babies as old as two! Lots of new experiences ahead!

Here is the little man practicing one of his new skills, cat grooming! We can't wait for there to be even more cat hair than normal floating around the house!

Mommy & G weekend

While daddy was in AZ this weekend, Grant and mommy had lots of adventures together including going to the park twice and attending a "black tie" retirement party.

Toothy time!

On Saturday we took Grant to the dentist for the first time.  There wasn't much of a check-up involved, but mom and dad did get a lecture on brushing his teeth.  Then on Sunday, a bright yellow thing called the sun came out.  We played outside, did some yard work and went out to dinner with some friends. Here are pictures from the dentist and before our night out.
